Our Story
Saving the planet, one piece of Art at a time
Both Marc and Deb have a real passion for up cycling, they’ve both been doing it so long, they can’t remember a time when it wasn’t a central focus while on a walk, traveling or just heading to a local scrap yard to see what was laying around.
Marc grew up in a family business where Scrap was king, it’s what paid the bills in his house. Many nights after dinner, Marc would head out with his dad and find just about anything in metal that was able to be turned into money or something new and interesting.
Deb loves finding things wherever she was, hiking, traveling or heading to an estate sale from a home full of amazing memories and finds.
While running a boutique Bed and Breakfast in the Finger Lakes, Deb and Marc opened their Art Studio under a different name and at the same time created a county wide Art trail event that helped the many artists in the county to realize their art was worthy of selling locally. This event was an eye opener for all involved and a great proving ground for Deb and Marc that grass roots events do make a difference in small communities.
After the sale of the Inn, Knoxville was the focus as a place to settle in and because of Covid, it happened about 1 year earlier than planned. Getting involved in the Arts community has been awesome and that’s where Master Repurposers is creating beautiful works in Stained Glass, Mosaics, Jewelry, and studio classes are happening on a regular basis!
